“I almost thanked you for teaching me something about survival
back there,
but then I remembered that the ocean never handed me the gift of swimming.
I gave it to myself.”
— Y.Z, what I forgot to remember (via sakesashimi)
Go to events with free food. They’re great for meeting people. And if you don’t meet anyone, free food.
Try anything you’re even vaguely interested in. This is the last real chance you get to try new things easily, and you never know what you’ll love. (I mean clubs and classes. Not drugs.)
If you do drugs, please be safe. Be honest if it’s your first time trying something. Don’t mix substances.
Cutting class causes more stress later. Try to actually go to class.
But take mental health days when you need to.
Go to office hours when they’re offered.
Make your schedule as realistic as possible. Fridays off are cool, but are they worth ten hours of classes every other day?
Off campus parties are always better.
Don’t date anyone when you first get there. This should be a law.
Find a spot you can go to to get away from your dorm.
Don’t take language classes first thing in the morning. It’s really confusing and your memory doesn’t work as well then.
Wash your hands all the time. Shower often.
Don’t drink the punch at frat parties. I’ve been responsible for making the punch at frat parties. Don’t drink it.
Bath sheets are bigger and better than bath towels.
Popularity doesn’t exist in college. Anyone who thinks it does is stuck in high school. Just be nice and you’ll find the right people.
Don’t be afraid to find new people if the first (or twentieth) group of friends turns out to not be good for you.
Dress up for themed parties. Get crafty.
Ask your advisor/dean for help if you need or want it.
If you’re unhappy, change majors or transfer.
Invest in thick slippers, good pens (these are great), a nice mini fridge, a comfortable pillow, and several umbrellas.
If you have a bad roommate, talk to housing about switching.
Do laundry whenever you have the time. Trying to find something clean when you’re running late is the worst feeling.
The mentions below are a combination of beautiful visuals animation movies that had captured an immediate attention due to its fresh and appealing color choices and drawing-styles; yet, still intrigued the audience with a unique plot. Before you check out the list, keep in mind that I did not forget any of Studio Ghibli productions. I think every project in Ghibli is so special that I feel I need to make a separate post, don’t you agree? Plus, I want to give a shout-out to other animes. Some are extremely underrated and need much more love and appreciation! ❤️ this and enjoy~
Hirune Hime: Shiranai Watashi no Monogatari / Ancien and the Magic Tablet (2017)
The Italian dub for “Its Over Isn’t It” is the most beautiful thing I’ve ever heard, the voice is amazing and the lyrics are beyond beautiful! I dare to say that the lyrics are even better than the original ones. Do yourselves a favor and watch it, click CC on the video to see the English translation
